Multi-award winning pianist and composer Zoe Rahman has firmly established herself as one of the brightest stars on the contemporary jazz scene. A vibrant and highly individual musician, her style is deeply rooted in jazz, yet it reflects her classical background, British/Bengali heritage and her very broad musical taste. Known for her powerful technique, wide-ranging imagination and exuberant performance, she has become a highly sought-after musician, collaborating with the likes of George Mraz and Courtney Pine. Expect music with swing, lyricism, energy and intimacy that will lead you on a musical and emotional journey with an inspirational artist, creator and communicator.

“One thread that seems to run through all of Rahman’s recordings is a seeming desire to make connections: musical, geographical, cultural.” – Jazzwise

Born in Chichester to a Bengali father and English mother, Zoe Rahman studied classical piano at the Royal Academy of Music, read music at Oxford University and then won a jazz performance scholarship at Berklee College of Music, Boston, where she studied with the inspirational pianist Joanne Brackeen. In a career that has seen her working with the likes of George Mraz, Courtney Pine and Jerry Dammers’ Spatial AKA Orchestra, Zoe has produced several acclaimed albums including Kindred Spirits featuring her brother Idris on clarinet as well as a guest appearance by UK jazz legend Courtney Pine, and the Mercury Prize nominated Melting Pot (2006), which won ‘Jazz Album of the Year’ at the UK’s first Parliamentary Jazz Awards. Zoe is a MOBO Award winner (Best Jazz Act 2012) and she was recognised with an Impact Award at the Ivors Composer Awards 2021. The Ivors Academy described Zoe as “one of Britain’s most powerful compositional voices and important contemporary artists who puts a spotlight on Jazz from the UK as an international musical force.”  www.zoerahman.com/

“…the eager confidence and fluency of the way Rahman’s solos break out of the themes confirm her ascent to an impressive new level.” – John Fordham, The Guardian

A graduate of London’s Royal Academy of Music, bass player Flo Moore has performed with many established artists, including Jason Rebello (Sting), Jordan Rakei, Pete King, Perico Sambeat, Bobby Watson, Paul Booth, Albert Sanz, Henry Lowther, Paul Clarvis and David McAlmont.
