Sultan Stevenson is one of the most exciting young jazz musicians whose captivating performances and original compositions have led to his rapid rise on the London scene. He is considered one of the brightest stars of his generation, winning Best Newcomer in the 2023 Parliamentary Jazz Awards. A product of the Julian Joseph Jazz Academy and Tomorrow’s Warriors, Sultan has shaped his musical identity through his cultural experiences, drawing heavily upon Jazz and African music. He cites McCoy Tyner, Kenny Kirkland, Geri Allen and Herbie Hancock as some of his biggest inspirations and this is reflected in his dynamic playing style.

Sultan Stevenson graduated from The Guildhall School of Music in 2023. His debut album ‘Faithful One’ with his trio was released in 2024 and his second, ‘El Roi’ is scheduled for release in 2025. Joel Waters is a drummer, guitarist and educator originally from Bedfordshire, now living in South East London. He studied Jazz at Trinity Laban Conservatoire under the likes of Dave Wickens, James Maddren, Gene Calderazzo and Asaf Sirkis. Since moving to London, Joel has played at venues including Ronnie Scott’s, Pizza Express and the 606 club. His own band, the Joel Waters Trio, features Deschanel Gordon on piano.
