Acclaimed bassist Misha Mullov-Abbado leads his regular group featuring some of the most sought-after young musicians in London. A prolific composer and arranger, Misha has worked with many top with musicians including Tim Garland, Viktoria Mullova, Rob Luft and Stan Sulzmann. The band will be playing music from their new album ‘Effra,’ due to be released in early 2025, which draws on a wide variety of influences from traditional jazz, swing and modern to Brazilian samba, classical music, minimalism and obscure. It showcases Misha’s ‘melodic gift’ (John Fordham, The Guardian) and ability to masterfully combine beautifully-crafted compositions with free-spirited improvisation.
Misha Mullov-Abbado is a BBC New Generation Artist and this band was formed during Misha’s final year at Royal Academy of Music over a decade ago. He has released three critically acclaimed albums on Edition Records – ‘Dream Circus’ (produced by fellow bassist and bandleader Jasper Høiby), ‘Cross-Platform Interchange’ and Misha’s debut ‘New Ansonia’, the latter having been included in “Best Jazz Albums 2015” of The Telegraph and BBC Radio 3. James Davison is Lead Trumpet with the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra and performs regularly with the BBC Big Band. He is a member of Jonny Mansfield’s Elftet, and The London Jazz Orchestra as well as his own band, co-led with Callum Au. He appeared at Sheffield Jazz in Autumn 2022 co-leading his sextet with Rory Ingham playing the music of Art Blakey.

Tom Smith was twice finalist in the BBC Young Jazz Musician of the Year and in 2018 was the only UK musician selected to join the Generations Festival Big Band in Switzerland where he performed with Grammy Award winners Maria Schneider and Donny McCaslin. Tom has worked with artists including Gareth Lockrane, Callum Gourlay, Ian Shaw and Jonny Mansfield and released his debut album ‘Gecko’ on Basho Records in 2020.

Sam Rapley is a composer and saxophonist and clarinettist as well as a highly experienced composer, orchestrator & music editor working across Film, TV & Games. His band ‘Fabled’ released their debut album ‘Short Stories’ to critical acclaim in 2018. Liam Dunachie won a jazz piano and arranging scholarship for the Guildhall School of Music where he studied with Nikki Iles among others. He has gone on to play piano and Hammond organ in groups led by Jim Mullen, Dennis Rollins, Derek Nash and Nigel Price and also works in musical theatre as both a Musical Director and keyboard player. www.liamdunachie.co.uk

Scott Chapman was formerly principal drummer for the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and later graduated from Royal Academy of Music and gained a Yamaha Jazz Scholarship. He is involved in projects such as the Patchwork Jazz Orchestra and the London Musical Theatre Orchestra and is a percussionist on several major West End shows
