Efpi All Star Orchestra – a unique 15 piece ensemble to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Efpi Records, featuring musicians from their bands incl. Beats & Pieces Big Band, Let Spin, and Johnny Hunter Quartet. To celebrate the twin milestones of 15 years and 50 releases, Efpi has assembled a unique All Star Orchestra featuring 15 innovative and imaginative artistic voices associated with the label. Each ensemble member has been commissioned to compose a brand new work for the group, exploring its distinctive combination of strings, saxophones, brass, and double rhythm section. As ever with Efpi artists, expect only the unexpected!

Based in Manchester and run by Beats & Pieces Big Band leader Ben Cottrell, Efpi is both an independent record label and an umbrella organisation promoting the activities of an emerging generation of musicians working across all areas of contemporary jazz, improvised and experimental music. Formed in 2009 by Ben, alongside fellow Manchester musicians Sam Andreae and Anton Hunter, to bring together their various projects under a single banner, Efpi continues to focus on artists working in and around the thriving local scene whilst also looking outwards to the rest of the UK and into Europe. Efpi artists include Beats & Pieces Big Band, Let Spin, Johnny Hunter Quartet, Revival Room, Richard Jones Trio and Gemma Bass’ Missing Pieces.
